Accidente de tren en Francia deja decenas de heridos
Varias decenas de personas resultaron heridas ayer (17.08.2016), entre ellas varias de gravedad, cuando un tren regional entre Nimes y Montpellier chocó contra un árbol que había caído a las vías por una violenta tormenta, indicaron las autoridades.
A falta de informaciones precisas sobre el número definitivo de las víctimas, una portavoz de la compañía ferroviaria SNCF explicó a la agencia de noticias Efe que el siniestro se produjo entre las 15.30 y las 15.45 locales en el municipio de Lunel, cuando el tren circulaba a 140 kilómetros por hora e impactó contra un árbol. Los hechos ocurrieron durante “una tormenta de una violencia excepcional” con fuertes vientos y granizo. Pese a la violencia del choque, el convoy, que circulaba en el sentido Montpellier-Nimes, no descarriló. A raíz del siniestro, el tráfico ferroviario quedó interrumpido entre las dos ciudades en ambos sentidos.
