Cameron Norrie le ganó a Carlos Alcaraz en la final del ATP de Río de Janeiro
El británico Cameron Norrie venció esta noche al español Carlos Alcaraz por 5-7, 6-4 y 7-5 y se quedó con el ATP 500 de tenis de Río de Janeiro, en Brasil.
Norrie, ubicado en el puesto 13 del ranking mundial de la ATP y segundo cabeza de serie del torneo carioca, superó al campeón defensor y número 2 del Mundo, el español Alcaraz, tras 2 horas y 43 minutos de juego.
El zurdo británico, de 27 años, sorprendió al gran favorito y alzó su primer trofeo del año, tras las derrotas en las finales de Auckland y Buenos Aires, donde cayó la semana pasada ante el jugador murciano.

Norrie conquistó su quinto título, al aprovechar los numerosos errores del prodigio español, de 19 años, quien no supo administrar las ventajas que tuvo a lo largo del partido.
Alcaraz el juego por un set y 3-0 en el tercer set hasta que volvió a lesionarse en su pierna derecha, la misma que le dejó sin Open de Australia y cedió ante el oportunismo de Norrie, que se quedó con el título.

El desquite tuvo un doble sabor para el británico, ya que además de darse revancha por la derrota en Buenos Aires, priva a Alcaraz de empatar al serbio Novak Djokovic en la cima del escalafón mundial.
