Chile aprobó el uso de Sinovac en menores de entre 6 y 17 años
Este lunes, Chile dio luz verde a la vacuna contra el coronavirus desarrollada por Sinovac, CoronaVac, para su uso en niños, niñas y adolescentes de entre 6 y 17 años.
Fue a través de la decisión del Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile (ISP), ente que aprobó el uso de emergencia de dicho inoculante y cuyo director, Heriberto García, aseguró que esta aprobación “debe estar vinculada de manera muy relevante a campañas de farmacovigilancia”.

Resaltando la caracterísitca vanguardista de esta noticia, García hizo un llamado a los padres y apoderados a mantener una vigilancia a aquellos menores que sean inoculados con el medicamento.
“En caso de ver alguna situación que amerite una atención médica, llevar inmediatamente a su hijo al centro médico y motivar a los profesionales de la salud la notificación de la reacción adversa”, explayó el director del ISP.

Cabe destacar que la vacuna desarrollada por Sinovac fue la más utilizada por Chile para combatir el COVID-19 desde el inicio de la campaña: del total de dosis inyectadas, 19.5 millones fueron del suero chino. El restante fue de los inoculantes de AstraZeneca, Pfizer, CanSino, Sputnik V y Johnson & Johnson.
