Conocer nuestra ciudad a través de los ojos de la historia
Cuántas veces hemos transitado por diferentes puntos de la ciudad de Santa Fe, por espacios emblemáticos, por el Casco Histórico, por el frente de imponentes edificios que presumen con orgullo la cantidad de décadas que llevan erguidos y sin embargo, ¿nos hemos preguntado alguna vez cuál es la historia que existe detrás (o debajo) de estos sitios?
Este mismo interrogante estuvo dando vueltas en la cabeza de Federico Fulini (Docente de Historia y Concejal santafesino) y bajo esta premisa, junto a un grupo de colaboradores, decidió comenzar a desandar los nudos del tiempo para responder a esta pregunta y cuyo resultado fue una serie en video emitida por YouTube y que se titula Historias para dormir la siesta.
“La idea con este trabajo de divulgación que estamos realizando tiene que ver con acercar la rica historia que tiene la ciudad de Santa Fe, buscando una manera entretenida de transmitir la información y valiéndonos de las nuevas plataformas narrativas que están al alcance de una gran cantidad de personas”, expresó Fulini.
No todo tiempo pasado fue mejor
De más está decir que el mundo entero está atravesando por un momento muy complicado, amenazado por una pandemia provocada por un virus nacido a miles de kilómetros de Santa Fe, pero que llegó para afectar de manera directa y profunda nuestra ya de por sí compleja cotidianeidad.
El Covid-19 se hizo presente, pero no es la primera vez que nuestra ciudad debe afrontar una crisis sanitaria producida por una enfermedad. “¿De qué manera los santafesinos y las santafesinas pudieron hacer frente a un problema como al que hoy en día estamos enfrentando?” Esta es la pregunta que funciona como disparador para darle inicio a El Coloso y las pestes, el segundo capítulo de la serie en el que se encara la historia del Hospital Iturraspe, nacido hace ya más de cien años como una Casa de Aislamiento para Enfermos Tuberculosos.
“Estamos viviendo un momento delicado y enormemente excepcional, que nos llama a la reflexión en muchos aspectos y uno de ellos es el rol del Estado en el cuidado de la salud de los ciudadanos. Si bien este es un espacio muy importante a la hora de pensar políticas públicas en general, cuando se dan brotes de enfermedades que parecen poner en riesgo a la población es cuando más se atiende y exige al complejo sanitario. Una vez más, buscando en la historia de la ciudad, nos encontramos con situaciones que nos invitan a pensar y profundizar el análisis. En este caso hablamos puntualmente de uno de los nosocomios más reconocidos de la capital provincial, el Hospital Iturraspe”, comenta el docente.
Construir el presente sin olvidar nuestra historia
“Nos propusimos llevar adelante esta tarea de divulgación porque creemos que es importante que los vecinos y vecinas conozcan su historia, puedan saber cómo se formó su ciudad, cómo se fue construyendo su barrio y todos esos espacios que están ahí presentes y que hacen a nuestra vida cotidiana, con el objetivo de que crezca ese sentimiento de arraigo”, explicó el edil.
El contexto actual nos obliga a desentrañar nuestro pasado para intentar encontrar algo de calma frente a lo inescrutable del futuro, hasta el más cercano posible. “Este breve recorrido por la historia del Hospital Iturraspe que hacemos en la serie, nos invita a reflexionar acerca de la enorme importancia que tiene la salud pública para todos y todas, y por ende nos muestra lo indispensable que significa cuidarla, respetarla y valorarla. Hoy, cuando tanto lo necesitamos, este gigante dormido se está despertando para volver a cumplir la función que alguna vez tuvo: ayudarnos a combatir una pandemia”, finalizó Fulini.
