Desaparecieron dos obras de arte de la Biblioteca Argentina
Son bajorrelieves del escultor Erminio Blotta que se exponían desde mayo. El municipio abrió un sumario y dio aviso a Interpol.
s obras del reconocido escultor autodidacta rosarino de origen calabrés, Erminio Blotta, fueron robadas de la Biblioteca Argentina, razón por la cual la Municipalidad abrió un sumario administrativo y le dio intervención a Interpol ante la presunción de que las mismas puedan ingresar en el mercado ilegal de arte. Se trata de dos grabados en bronce que formaban parte de una muestra homenaje al escultor fallecido en 1976 y declarado artista distinguido post-mortem de la ciudad en 2006.
Según confirmó ayer a La Capital el secretario de Cultura del municipio, Guillermo Ríos, la desaparición de las obras de Blotta se registró hace dos semanas, pero recién tomó estado público ayer.
“Formaban parte de una muestra homenaje a Blotta, estaban siendo exhibidas en la Biblioteca Argentina y desaparecieron”, indicó el funcionario.
Ríos detalló que a raíz del incidente “se abrió un sumario administrativo y se están analizando las cámaras de seguridad de la biblioteca para investigar qué sucedió”.
El funcionario no dio detalles sobre la valuación de las obras y sólo se limitó a precisar que “se trata de dos grabados en placas de bronce que integraban la colección del artista”.
La muestra en homenaje al artista se había inaugurado a mediados de mayo, al conmemorarse 40 años de su fallecimiento. Así, en el seno de la Biblioteca Argentina se podían observar varios trabajos en mármol y en bronce.
Ríos precisó ayer que cada vez que se produce la desaparición de una obra de arte se le da intervención de Interpol “porque esas obras pueden llegar a ingresar al mercado ilegal”.
Obra decisiva. Blotta fue un gran lector y justamente se contaron entre sus primeros trabajos los bajorrelieves de los escritores y poetas como Charles Baudelaire, Anatole France, Arthur Rimbaud, Mijaíl Miguel Bakunin y León Tólstoi. Una de esas obras, “El Tólstoi”, que durante más de un siglo estuvo en la Biblioteca Argentina, está entre las desaparecidas, junto con “Carmen y Herminio”, una escena de dos personas en bajorrelieve que pertenecía a la familia.
Sobre “El Tólstoi”, Beatriz Vignoli, nieta del artista y estudiosa de su obra, contó que “es un trabajo decisivo en la historia de Rosario y en la vida del autor, no sólo por ser de los primeros, sino porque además expresa sus lecturas, sus inquietudes y sus influencias modernas, y lo plasma en ese retrato”.
Pero además, Vignoli recalcó la importancia de la pieza por ser “una obra realizada en la técnica del bronce y esa es la única copia que hay Rosario, al menos que haya conocimiento”.
Sobre cómo Blotta llevó adelante el trabajo cuando aún no había cumplido los 20 años, su nieta explicó que “primero se realiza un primer boceto en arcilla «en positivo», algo que era muy moderno en ese momento porque conservaba las huellas de la mano del escultor”, y a partir de ese primer paso, se llevaba adelante “«un negativo» hecho en yeso”.
Era sobre ese molde, que ya no se hacía en el taller del artista, sino en una fundición, donde se vertía el bronce líquido y en caliente sobre el yeso. “Al enfriarse quedaba la copia en positivo, la misma imagen hecha en arcilla, y que a partir del yeso podría reproducirse”, detalló Vignoli.
Sin embargo, no se conoce el destino del molde de esa obra, y según indicó Vignoli, “ésta era la única copia conocida”. Un trabajo que además llevó en 1913 a poner al joven Blotta cara a cara con el entonces presidente Roque Sáenz Peña (ver aparte).
El encuentro con el presidente Sáenz Peña
Antes de llegar a la Biblioteca Argentina, el bronce de Tólstoi encontró en la vidriera de la librería de Georgino Linares su primer espacio de exposición, justo en la actual peatonal Códoba al 1000 y donde años después funcionó el mítico café Sorocabana. Fue a partir de allí que la obra marcó los primeros años de la carrera de Erminio Blotta, lo llevó a encontrarse con el entonces presidente Roque Sáenz Peña y la hizo más significativa aún.
Según el relato oral del propio artista, y que ayer reprodujo su nieta Beatriz Vignoli, el bronce del escritor ruso fue visto en la vidriera de la librería por el ingeniero Lampe, quien fue el que hizo la donación a la Biblioteca Argentina Juan Alvarez, donde quedó inventariada como parte de su patrimonio en 1917. ”Cuenta la historia, y está documentado, que cuando el presidente Sáenz Peña visita Rosario y va a la biblioteca, ve «El Tólstoi» y queda admirado, y entonces pregunta quién era el autor y le presentan a mi abuelo —relata Vignoli—. En el encuentro que mantienen, Sáenz Peña le ofrece una beca, que mi abuelo viaja a buscar a Buenos Aires, pero a la que nunca accede porque tras la muerte del presidente, queda perdida en la burocracia del gobierno”.
