Día Internacional de la Marihuana: conocé su origen y por qué se celebra cada 20 de abril
El 20 de abril se estableció como el Día Mundial de la Marihuana.
En esa fecha un grupo de estudiantes de una escuela secundaria de Los Ángeles, en Estados Unidos, se juntaban a fumar a las 4:20.
De esa forma, se fue armando una pequeña comunidad cannábica que los seguía con el fin de encontrar una gran plantación de marihuana al noroeste de San Francisco.
Este grupo de amigos, conocido como “Los Waldos”, tenía en su poder un mapa hecho a mano de la locación y decidió ir a buscar el cultivo. Finalmente, no encontraron nada.
Sin embargo, desde ese momento comenzó a instaurarse esta efeméride.
Aunque la celebración de este día es muy controvertida, se destacan los beneficios del cannabis medicinal, dadas sus propiedades curativas, siendo aprobado legalmente en algunos países con fines medicinales.
Uso del cannabis medicinal
La marihuana medicinal es usada terapéuticamente para tratar algunas enfermedades y aliviar determinados síntomas.

Está referido al uso de las preparaciones o principios activos de la planta Cannabis Sativa, denominados cannabinoides (tetrahidrocannabiol o THC y el cannabidiolo CBD).
En ese sentido, en los últimos días Mendoza solicitó a Nación la urgente reglamentación de la Ley 27669 de cannabis medicinal y cáñamo industrial para que los interesados comiencen a invertir.
