El hospital Alberdi sólo atiende urgencias por un hecho violento
Un paciente no quiso esperar su turno y agredió a un enfermero, que se cayó y terminó en el Heca con una lesión en la rodilla.
Otra vez la violenta reacción de un paciente que no quiso esperar su turno dejó a un hospital de la ciudad, en este caso el Alberdi, sólo con atención de emergencias. El hecho se produjo antenoche, alrededor de las 21, cuando un hombre que se quejaba de dolor en la vejiga a viva voz ingresó a la guardia después de esperar “no más de tres minutos” y empujó a un enfermero. El trabajador tuvo “la mala suerte de caerse” y lesionarse los tendones de una rodilla: así fue como terminó él mismo como paciente en el Clemente Alvarez. Esta mañana, dirigentes del área de salud del sindicato Municipal mantendrán una reunión con los empleados del Alberdi.
“Lo único que verdaderamente no podemos permitirnos es naturalizar que pasen cosas como esta y la paradoja es que cada vez ocurren más”, se sinceró el subsecretario gremial Juan Manuel Basso.
Pese a esa postura, los hospitales, tanto provinciales como municipales, no cesan de volverse noticia por razones que poco tienen que ver con su tradicional misión sanitaria: cuando no son blanco de situaciones de violencia, las hay de inseguridad, como la que se dio el viernes pasado en el Provincial (ver aparte).
Figurita repetida. En el caso del Alberdi, esta vez se trató de todo un clásico de los últimos tiempos: llega un paciente al efector, reclama ser atendido, se exaspera, no respeta el llamado por turno y desata su ira sobre el personal, ya sea médico, enfermero, mucamo o administrativo.
“El hombre se quejaba mucho aparentemente por un problema urinario, decía que le dolía la vejiga”, recordó ayer un empleado que no quiso hacer pública su identidad.
Según el trabajador, el paciente “no habrá llegado a esperar más de tres minutos, pero no paraba de quejarse y la gente que también estaba aguardando se empezó a molestar”.
En un momento, el hombre se cayó al piso “y ahí se armó una batahola”, que involucró también a familiares de los enfermos.
Esa situación se dio en la sala de espera y luego “unas seis o siete personas logran ingresar al pasillo de la guardia”.
En ese tumulto, el mismo hombre que se quejaba de dolor se abalanzó sobre un enfermero de nombre Matías, que producto del empujón o para evitarlo “se cayó y se lesionó los tendones de una rodilla”.
Como corolario, el enfermero terminó como paciente, pero del Hospital de Emergencias Clemente Alvarez.
“Es un trabajador que va a tomar una guardia y acaba en el Heca, teniendo que afrontar una situación complicada, con estudios, licencia y tratamiento”, precisó Basso.
El dirigente sindical aseguró que el agresor se encontraba “tan alterado que si el enfermero, en vez de ser hombre, era una mujer igual le pegaba”.
Lo que más preocupación le causa al dirigente gremial de los municipales es que este tipo de hechos “son cada vez más comunes en la salud pública”, pese a lo cual llamó a “no naturalizarlos” ni a “acostumbrarse a la violencia”.
In crescendo. Hace unos diez años, reflexionó Basso, las cosas vienen de mal en peor.
“¿A quién le puede parecer algo normal que una ambulancia que va a salvar una vida a un barrio tenga que entrar custodiada por la policía para que no la roben?”, se preguntó.
Como primera reacción, los trabajadores de la salud del Hospital Alberdi resolvieron atender ayer “sólo las situaciones de emergencia”.
La medida será sometida a evaluación hoy, cuando un grupo de dirigentes gremiales vaya a dialogar con ellos al hospital, en busca de una respuesta a la pregunta de “por qué falló el protocolo de seguridad”.
