“Hay que armar una estructura deportiva en el interior del país”
Así lo expresó Gerardo Werthein, presidente del Comité Olímpico Argentino en diálogo por LT10. En un balance de los Juego Olímpicos, destacó que el 93% de los deportistas no salen de Buenos Aires. También afirmó que Argentina “tuvo muy buenos resultados en Río 2016” y que “no ganar medallas no es un fracaso”.
“El deporte es tan específico y requiere tanto foco que yo creo que sería necesario a esta altura tener un ministerio de Deportes autónomo, es lo que veo que están haciendo los países que tienen éxito”, aseguró Gerardo Werthein, presidente del Comité Olímpico Argentino en diálogo por LT10. También destacó que la “otra cuestión a tener en cuenta de cara al futuro es armar una estructura para el interior del país, que es de dónde vienen el 93 por ciento de los deportistas. Buenos Aires puede ser el punto final, pero no el único”, aseguró.
También, Werthein destacó la necesidad de que “los jóvenes deportistas se rocen en el extranjero con sus competidores para que le den la formación necesaria. Que los prepare mejor y le de nivel a las competencias nacionales”.
Por ultimo, el dirigente del Comité Olímpico remarcó que “no ganar medallas no es fracaso. Menos del 7% gana en los Juegos Olímpicos”.
