La UNR propone garantizar el medio boleto universitario
El rector de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR), Darío Maiorana, manifestó su voluntad de "colaborar con las autoridades del Ejecutivo municipal y los concejales de la ciudad para pensar y construir no sólo una herramienta sino también un compromiso conjunto que permita a los estudiantes de la universidad pública el acceso al medio boleto universitario”.
Ayer los concejales de los distintos bloques acordaron un aumento en la tarifa de colectivos y taxis. En el marco de este debate, el edil socialista Edgardo Falcón propuso crear un medio boleto para los estudiantes universitarios.
"Esta es una cuestión que la universidad ha planteado hace tiempo. Lo que hicimos fue formalizar mediante una nota a participar del debate", apuntó Maiorana a "Dos tipos audaces" de La Ocho.
Maiorana consideró “una reivindicación histórica y legítima de los estudiantes el acceso al medio boleto, que no es otra cosa que el reclamo por mecanismos que permitan un mayor acceso a la formación universitaria y contención de los estudiantes en el sistema educativo” y en ese sentido ofreció “a los concejales y autoridades del municipio la posibilidad de imaginar estrategias y compromisos conjuntos que permitan la implementación de algún mecanismo que reduzca el impacto económico del aumento del boleto urbano y garantice sobre todo a los estudiantes que más lo necesitan el acceso a un descuento”.
El rector recordó que la UNR cuenta con un programa de bienestar estudiantil que otorga becas, entre ellas de transporte de pasajeros. "Podemos colaborar no sólo en lo que hace al conocimiento, sino en parte de fondos, asociándonos a la Municipalidad para solucionar este problema", afirmó el rector.
