La Liga de las Naciones (VNL) era una cuenta pendiente para la Selección Argentina, que nunca se había podido a clasificar a las finales. Hasta este edición, gracias a un equipo joven que supo reemplazar a dos piezas clave y, con racha de 7-3, se aseguró el pasaje a falta de dos juegos. Lo firmó este jueves al ganarle por 3-0 a Alemania (25-23, 25-18 y 25-17) en Anaheim, Estados Unidos, tercera y última parada de la fase inicial.
Liga de las Naciones de Vóley: Argentina se mide con Alemania
Por un lado, el equipo recuperó a Luciano De Cecco, quien se había tomado una etapa de descanso y no fue a Francia. Con el capitán y su magia en el armado adentro, todavía faltaba sustituir a los puntas titulares en el bronce del 2021 y los cuartos del Mundial 2022, Facundo Conte (descansa la primera mitad de año) y Ezequiel Palacios (lesionado). Con Luciano Palonsky (23) y Luciano Vicentín (23), más algunas apariciones de Manuel Armoa (20) y histórico Jan Martínez (25) se mantuvo el buen nivel.
La victoria ante Alemania
El equipo nacional ganó un partido que, en los papeles, debía ganar, ya desde el primer set se notó la diferencia de presente y confianza. Porque si bien Argentina se adelantó en el marcador, cuando Alemania (racha de 1-8) lo emparejó (de 20-18 a 21-21), el seleccionado se mantuvo en partido y los germanos no alcanzaron a darlo vuelta. Un ataque con fortuna de Loser (5 tantos, goleador) más un ace de Lima bastaron para cerrarlo.
Se podía mejorar, claro, ya que había faltado un poco en el set inicial. A partir de la defensa, entonces, Argentina subió su nivel y rápidamente consiguió una brecha importante, 15-10. Después apareció la figura que está teniendo este equipo, Loser (central del Milano), para clavar un ace que dejó el 18-12 indescontable.
Por decantación, inercia y solidez, el tercer set paso como colectivo lleno, sin dejar un momento de incertidumbre, con un equipo que hasta relajado parecía porque Alemania no lastimaba ni tras las pelotas vendidas. Así se llegó al final y la clasificación.
En las posiciones, Japón va arriba con 9-0 y lo sigue EE.UU, con 8-1. Luego sigue un lote de 7-3 que tiene a Brasil, Eslovenia, Italia y Argentina; Polonia (7-2) ingresa por tabla pero también va por local. Después aparece Países Bajos (5-5), que puede alcanzar a la Selección en triunfos (primer ítem para la tabla) y hasta superarla en puntos. Pero no pueden hacerlo Francia (4-5) ni Serbia (4-5) en puntos. la Selección suma 22; los franceses, 12, y los serbios, 11.
En su parada en Anaheim, el equipo todavía tiene dos partidos más, contra los locales, el sábado a las 0.30, y el último con Irán (2-7), el mismo sábado a las 21 (hora Argentina). Toda la actividad se podrá ver a través de ESPN y Star+.
