Mónaco perdió con Murray y se despidió de los Juegos Olímpicos
El tandilense cayó por 6-3 y 6-1 ante el británico en la segunda ronda de Río y quedó eliminado del certamen
En la segunda ronda del torneo de singles, Juan Mónaco no pudo dar el golpe ante el principal favorito a la medalla de oro y se despidió de los Juegos Olímpicos.
Andy Murray se impuso por 6-3 y 6-1 ante el tandilense y avanzó a la próxima instancia donde lo espera el ganador del italiano Fabio Fognini y el francés Benoit Paire.
El británico, número 2 del mundo, campeón de Wimbledon y defensor de la medalla de oro, impuso su jerarquía desde el comienza y nunca le dio oportunidades al argentino.
Con un quiebre rápido en el el primer set, Murray encontró una ventaja inicial que parecía definitiva. Sin embargo, Mónaco se recuperó y dio batalla pero en el cierre del parcial, el escocés sacó a relucir lo mejor de su tenis para ganar la manga.
En el segundo periodo fue todo del británico que se puso al frente por 4 a 0 y luego cerró el encuentro sin inconvenientes para acceder a la tercera ronda.
Murray quedó como principal favorito para llevarse el oro, luego de la eliminación de Djokovic. En el debut superó por un doble 6-2 a Viktor Troicki.
