Mónaco y Del Potro, para seguir avanzando
Los tandilenses Juan Mónaco y Juan Martín Del Potro van por más en el ATP 500 de Valencia. Y mientras avanzan en el torneo español, también es importante su rendimiento de cara a la final de la Copa Davis, que se jugará en Sevilla a comienzos de diciembre.
El primero en salir a la cancha será Mónaco, que viene de conseguir una valiosa victoria ante el local Nicolás Almagro por 6-4, 3-6 y 6-4. Pico se medirá ante el italiano Fabio Fognini por un lugar en los cuartos de final. El historial favorece al argentino, que venció las dos veces que se vieron las caras. El partido comienza a las 11.
Más tarde será el turno de Del Potro, el argentino mejor ubicado en el ranking y que, además, tiene chances de ingresar al Masters de Londres ya que figura en el 11° lugar. Pero para eso, el tandilense deberá seguir cosechando triunfos. Y esta tarde, no antes de las 16, le toca jugar ante el sudafricano Kevin Anderson, al que derrotó el último fin de semana en el ATP de Viena.
Si Delpo gana podría chocar nuevamente con el francés Tsonga, con quien perdió la final del certamen austríaco y figura en el séptimo lugar en la Carrera a Londres. Y si alcanza la final de Valencia, quedará 9°. "De suplente no iría de ninguna manera", avisó ayer el argentino.
