Rosario: 11 años de cárcel para la mujer que prendió fuego a su hijo
Una mujer de 30 años fue condenada a 11 años de prisión por intentar matar a su hijo de 11 años, a quien en 2020 roció con alcohol y le arrojó una vela encendida en una vivienda de barrio Triángulo, de la ciudad de Rosario.

El tribunal integrado por los jueces Gustavo Pérez Urrechu, Paula Álvarez y Paola Aguirre la encontró penalmente responsable de los delitos de homicidio calificado por el vínculo en grado de tentativa.
Según lo ventilado en el debate por los fiscales Adrián Spelta y Gastón Ávila, la noche del 4 de noviembre de 2020, alrededor de las 23.10, la mujer atacó al niño cuando se encontraba sentado en uno de los dormitorios de su casa, ubicada en Barra al 3400.
El niño llegó al Hospital Víctor J. Vilela, junto a su abuela y su madre, con quemaduras en la zona del pecho y abdomen. La mujer dijo que jugaba con una botella con alcohol y un velón cuando se prendió fuego, aunque algunas declaraciones posteriores hicieron referencia a la existencia de maltrato infantil por parte de la madre.
Luego, la abuela del niño se presentó en la Comisaría de la Mujer y contó que su hija había rociado al niño con alcohol y lo prendió fuego con una vela y fueron los vecinos quienes lo auxiliaron. En esas circunstancias, el niño dijo que fue su madre quien lo roció con un líquido inflamable y le acercó un velón.
El tribunal resolvió condenar a la mujer a la pena única de 11 años de cárcel. El debate había comenzado el 30 de marzo. En su alegato de apertura, la Fiscalía había pedido 15 años de pena.
