Santa Fe celebra el IPA Day
Este sábado se celebra a nivel mundial el día de la cerveza Indian Pale Ale. Con tal motivo la Cámara de Cerveceros Artesanales Santafesinos, junto al Cluster de la Cerveza, organiza el IPA Day para que santafesinos y visitantes disfruten a lo largo de la jornada en diversos bares locales de este tipo de cerveza.
La propuesta permitirá degustar en una serie de bares locales este tipo particular de cerveza. Esta actividad conforma el cronograma de eventos establecido por el Cluster cervecero local y busca resaltar la tradición cervecera de los santafesinos al tiempo que aporta a la consolidación de la ciudad de Santa Fe como destino turístico con una fuerte impronta gastronómica y cervecera, fundamentalmente en la región.
Así, desde las 18 y hasta las 24 del sábado 6 de agosto en las canillas de los siguientes bares se servirá Indian Pale Ale: Bar Cervecería Agosto – Mercado Norte (Santiago del Estero 3166); Bar Cervecería Comillas (Sarmiento esq. Luciano Molinas); Brew Pub Saer con Cerveza Palo y Hueso. Estación Belgrano (Bv. Gálvez 1150); Falucho Bar – Birras y Tragos con Cervecerías Medieval, Yacaré y Palo y Hueso – (San Martín 2365 Local 23); Bar Catedral con Cervecería Yacaré (Gral. López 2656); Mulata Bar con Cervecería Babylon (Alberdi 3536); Malatesta Resto & Grill con Cervecería Babylon (Belgrano esq. Gobernador Candioti) y Bar Liverpool con Cervecería Rapaz Maluco (Pedro Vittori 3701).
Indian Pale Ale
Este tipo de cerveza, denominada IPA, tiene sus orígenes en la consolidación del proceso de colonización de la India en manos de Inglaterra a mediados del siglo XIX.
Una vez que la India quedó bajo dominio inglés, las exportaciones de cerveza desde el Reino Unido crecieron hasta alcanzar cifras millonarias. Por ese entonces, uno de los estilos populares en Inglaterra era la Pale Ale, una cerveza rojiza clara, que competía con otras más oscuras como la reconocida Porter. Esta Pale Ale resultó no ser una gran cerveza para que la transportaran en barco por seis meses bajo el sol oceánico, por lo que gradualmente comenzaron a subirle el nivel de alcohol y la presencia de lúpulo, la flor que saboriza y sirve como conservante. Esa Pale Ale, fuerte y extralupulada, marca el nacimiento y la característica especial de las IPA.
Actualmente la cerveza IPA es uno de los estilos más populares mundialmente.
Sobre el cluster
El cluster de cerveceros santafesinos se institucionalizó en marzo de este año con el objetivo de reunir a los productores de cerveza locales, entidades productivas y tecnológicas para consolidar la actividad, dar un marco de formalidad al circuito artesanal de productores y posicionar a la ciudad de Santa Fe como un destino turístico también a partir de su tradición cervecera y de gastronomía afín.
En un cluster se reúnen un conjunto de empresas e instituciones concentradas geográficamente, que mantienen vínculos formales e informales entre sí para desarrollar una actividad productiva. En este caso particular la actividad que aglutina es la producción cervecera. Es así que el Cluster de la Cerveza Santafesina está integrado por el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Santa Fe (a través de la Secretaría de Producción), el Gobierno de la Provincia de Santa Fe (a través de los Ministerios de la Producción y de Salud, Sec. de Desarrollo Territorial y Economía Social, Agencia Santafesina de Seguridad Alimentaria), UNL (FIQ, FBCB, FCJS, EIS), UTN Regional Santa Fe, Compañía Industrial Cervecera SA, Asociación Civil Cámara de Cerveceros Artesanales (en formación), Asociación Civil Cerveceros Santafesinos (en formación).
