Un terremoto de magnitud 6,8 sacudió la madrugada de este martes el norte de Mongolia, cerca de la frontera con Rusia, informó el instituto geológico de Estados Unidos (USGS).

El epicentro se registró a una profundidad relativamente baja, de diez kilómetros, 33 kilómetros al sur-suroeste de Turt, según el instituto estadounidense, informó la agencia AFP.
El epicentro parece estar bajo el lago Khovsgol, el mayor en volumen de agua fresca de Mongolia. Las posibilidades de daños y víctimas son bajas, según el USGS.
“¡La población de esa región reside en general en estructuras resistentes a los terremotos, aunque existe algunas estructuras vulnerables!”, según el instituto citado por AFP.
