Ya se trabaja para prevenir el dengue

Con el objetivo de evitar la proliferación de mosquitos transmisores del dengue, desde la Municipalidad de Santa Fe ya se llevan adelante una serie de acciones. “Durante el verano, cuando estuvimos trabajando sobre los casos detectados, planteábamos fuertemente que el trabajo que teníamos que hacer se debía concretar en el período invernal porque es el momento en que empieza a reproducirse el mosquito”, esgrimió Leonardo Martínez, secretario de Salud del Municipio.
Al ser consultado por Sol de frente (Sol 91.5, de lunes a viernes de 16.30 a 19), el funcionario detalló que de manera conjunta con la Facultad de Medicina de la UNL, la Cruz Roja y un grupo de investigadores dependientes de la Facultad de Bioquímica y Ciencias Biológicas de la misma casa de estudios. “Con ellos hemos puesto trampas en diferentes barrios de la ciudad y podemos tener una percepción de qué es lo que sucede con el mosquito en toda la ciudad”, precisó y añadió que se apunta a prevenir “cruzando información de dónde casos declarados en el período anterior y dónde está presente el mosquito”.
De esa forma es factible “recorrer algunos barrios, casa por casa, descacharrizar, sacar todos aquellos objetos donde el mosquito puede estar criándose porque este es el momento adecuado”.
Martínez, en ese contexto, hizo hincapié “en cómo aquello que tenemos en nuestro hogar, donde el mosquito puede estar reproduciéndose repercute, además, en la vida comunitaria y en la vida social”.
